The Maryland Association of Science Teachers annual award program recognizes excellence in science teaching, administration, and outreach in Maryland. Each year, the Maryland Association of Science Teachers honors a group of people who have made outstanding contributions to science education for the State of Maryland. Awards are presented in the following areas:
Applications consist of a nomination letter (filled out by a colleague or educator can self-nominate) and letters of support (filled out by those familiar with the work of the nominee). Up to THREE letters of support can be submitted on behalf of each candidate. We encourage those filling out the nomination letters and letters of support to review the rubric that will be used to assess each application. Nominations are due Monday, May 15.
Winners will be announced at a special MAST luncheon at the 2017 NSTA Baltimore Regional Conference in October and receive statewide recognition, a monetary award, and a year membership in MAST.
