The Maryland Association of Science Teachers annual award program recognizes excellence in science teaching, administration, and outreach in Maryland. Each year, the Maryland Association of Science Teachers honors a group of people who have made outstanding contributions to science education for the State of Maryland. Awards are presented in the following areas:
- Elementary school science (3+ years of teaching experience)
- Middle school science (3+ years of teaching experience)
- High School science (3+ years of teaching experience)
- College science (3+ years of teaching experience)
- New science teacher (1st or 2nd year teacher)
- Science educational leaders: includes informal science educators, resource teachers, instructional specialists, facilitators, curriculum specialists, science supervisors, etc.
